{"id":404,"date":"2019-08-01T00:40:59","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T00:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ecir2020.org\/?page_id=404"},"modified":"2019-12-09T22:59:13","modified_gmt":"2019-12-09T22:59:13","slug":"call-for-full-papers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ecir2020.org\/call-for-full-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Full papers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The European Conference on Information Retrieval is the prime European forum for the presentation of original research in the field of Information Retrieval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ECIR 2020 is seeking high-quality and original submissions on theory, experimentation, and practice regarding the retrieval, representation, management, and usage of textual, visual and multi-modal information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Topics of Interest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>ECIR strongly supports user, system, application, and evaluation focused papers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>User aspects including information interaction, contextualisation, personalisation, simulation, characterisation, and information behaviours.<\/li><li>System aspects including retrieval and recommendation algorithms, machine learning, deep learning, content representation, natural language processing, system architectures, and efficiency methods.<\/li><li>Applications such as search and recommender systems, web and social media apps, domain specific search (professional, bio, chem, etc.), novel interfaces, intelligent search agents\/bots, and related innovative search tools.<\/li><li>Evaluation research including new measures and novel methods for the measurement and evaluation of users, systems and\/or applications.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to these traditional topic areas, ECIR 2020 will be encouraging the submissions of papers on a specialised theme (eHealth, DeepLearning, education IR etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Full Paper Track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Full paper track provides the opportunity for researchers to present their state of the art research in Information Retrieval, which makes, or have the potential to make, a significant contribution to the field. Full paper submissions should be 12 pages in length plus additional pages for references. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selected papers from ECIR 2020  will be published in a special issue of the  Information Retrieval Journal in early 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">I We are delighted to announce the <a href=\"https:\/\/ecir2020.org\/announcing-the-ecir-industry-impact-award-sponsored-by-signal-ai\/\">ECIR Industry Impact Award<\/a>, sponsored by Signal AI.   It will be awarded to the authors of one selected full paper from the ECIR programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Submission Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors should consult Springer\u2019s&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.springernature.com\/cs-proceeding\/svproc\/guidelines\/Springer_Guidelines_for_Authors_of_Proceedings.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">authors\u2019 guidelines<\/a>&nbsp;and use their proceedings templates, either for&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.springernature.com\/cs-proceeding\/llncs\/llncs2e.zip\" target=\"_blank\">LaTeX<\/a>&nbsp;or for&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.springernature.com\/cs-proceeding\/llncs\/word\/splnproc1703.zip\" target=\"_blank\">Word<\/a>, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/hbsa4D\" target=\"_blank\">ORCIDs<\/a>&nbsp;in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All submissions must be written in English. Authors should consult ECIR&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/irsg.bcs.org\/proceedings\/ECIR_Draft_Guidelines.pdf\">paper guidelines<\/a> and Fuhr\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/sigir.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/p032.pdf\">guide to avoid common IR evaluation mistakes<\/a>, for the preparation of their papers. All papers should be submitted electronically through the conference <a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=ecir2020\">submission system<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full papers (e.g. main paper track) are up to 12 pages in length plus additional pages for references, short papers track and reproducibility track are up to 6 pages in length plus additional pages for references, and demonstration papers are to be 4 pages in length plus additional pages for references. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full paper and short paper submissions will be refereed through double-blind peer review. Demonstration and Reproducibility papers will undergo single-blind review. Accepted full papers, short papers, reproducibility papers, and demo papers will be published in the conference proceedings published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. The proceedings will be distributed to all delegates at the conference.
